Palletization refers to the process of placing the used IT equipment and decommissioned computer hardware onto pallets. The pallet provides a solid base for a clients’ old computer hardware, thereby promoting the efficient storage, handling and transportation from the clients’ location to the YBC IT asset disposition facility. In many cases, the YBC ITAD removal team will utilize large pallet boxes to store items that are less easy to palletize (e.g.: laptops, computer monitors, printers, cables and keyboards). A pallet box is usually a large cardboard box that is physically attached to a wooden or plastic pallet. The YBC ITAD removal team also tend to use plastic pallet boxes as these are more durable, can be secured more easily and provide a higher standard of protection for the clients’ IT assets. Having preformed a successful pick up from the clients’ location the computer and IT hardware is driven directly to the YBC information technology asset disposition (ITAD) facility. Each ITAD removal truck has a tracking device installed to monitor its progress along its route. In addition, the ITAD removal team are equipped with phones to report any incidents. Should an incident occur a secondary truck is on standby, ready to take over at a moments’ notice. The YBC ITAD facilities accommodate multiple loading bays, each capable of receiving and processing close to 1000 desktop computers every hour. Upon receipt of a clients decommissioned computer equipment YBC will allocate a secure inspection bay to temporarily store the IT assets.
